West Wilkes Falcon Logo Wrestling Champions

The West Wilkes Falcon wrestling team recently concluded their season with an impressive finish at the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Penn College. The Colonels earned a second-place overall finish, with two wrestlers claiming championship titles and four others finishing runner-up in their respective weight classes.

Kyle Tino, seeded third at 149-lbs, received a bye into the round of 16 and went on to earn a series of impressive victories. He defeated Max Shaffer, his teammate from Archbishop Wood, in the finals with a 7-5 decision. From there, Tino earned decisions over Cooper Leszczuk of Gettysburg and Nick Roeger of Castleton before securing a spot in the finals with a 1-0 decision over Elijah Cyr, the second-ranked wrestler in the weight class.

The Falcons finished with a team score of 169.5, just behind Castleton's 223.5. Wilkes University wrestling is known for its strong program and talented wrestlers, and this performance only adds to their reputation.

With their season now complete, the Falcons will look ahead to next year, where they hope to continue their success and build on their accomplishments from this year.
